Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming academic research, creating new opportunities for literature discovery, data analysis, writing assistance, coding, knowledge synthesis and scholarly communication.
At the same time, the use of AI in research raises important questions about academic integrity, authorship, attribution, transparency, privacy, bias, misinformation and the reliability of generated information.
Veritas University Library will organise a programme focused on the responsible use and ethical concerns surrounding artificial intelligence in research.
Participants will explore practical approaches to using AI tools while maintaining scholarly responsibility and academic integrity.
Topics will include appropriate disclosure of AI assistance, verification of AI-generated information, protection of confidential research materials, intellectual property considerations, bias in AI systems and the importance of maintaining human responsibility for academic work.
The programme will also encourage researchers to critically evaluate AI-generated content rather than treating generated information as automatically accurate or authoritative.
The Library considers AI literacy an increasingly important component of modern research practice and encourages students, postgraduate researchers and faculty to develop responsible and informed approaches to AI-assisted scholarship.
